Employment & HR

There is a considerable amount of legislation covering all levels of employment in the UK. UKFT strives to keep up-to-date with it all: monitoring the planned introduction of new regulation; charting the changes in interpretation through the tribunal system; and staying up-to-date with current HR practises.

 

Much of the work is done through the offices of the Knitting Industry Federation, part of the UKFT. It offers a number of model policies and guidelines for members as well as more specific advice on a one-to-one basis – though some of this specialist help is charged for.

 

The first part of this section is designed to guide members through the employment process. The second part looks at broader Human Resources issues and procedures.

 

The model policy documents are only to be used as a guide. The circumstances in every company will be different. Also, employment legislation is a continually developing area and you must ensure you are complying with the latest requirements. News of these developments will be published in our Newsletter and will be added to the website.
