One of the biggest problems designers face is how to source and work effectively with their manufacturers,
whether they are managing production in the UK or offshore. Buyers consistently complain that the
production from British designers is not up to standard or their orders arrive late and once you damage
yourreputation it is hard to build it up again. This interactive session will give you an understanding of
sampling, production and quality control procedures, and the systems you need to have in place in order
to avoid expensive mistakes.
During this session we will be covering the following:-
• Overview of production cycle
• Sourcing and selecting manufacturers
• UK Vs offshore production
• Understanding of the sealed sample process
• Costing your products
• Production and critical path management
• Quality control
• Costing & production documentation
By the end of the session you will have the confidence to communicate effectively with your suppliers and
manage your production effectively. Each participant will also be given the Fashion Angel Production
Pack – essential templates you can use for your own sampling/production.
