Daines & Hathaway: 100 years of manufacturing English leather goods
UK exhibitor Daines & Hathaway is the quintessential English leather goods brand, which is celebrating 100 years of manufacturing heritage products in its own workshop in England this year at the June 2022 edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence.
At the heart of the brand is leather – from traditional Bridle to the contemporary Brooklyn quality with its beautifully subtle oil pull-up, each leather is carefully selected to wear beautifully and improve with time. Careful leather selection is just the start of the product journey and each piece is cut, prepared and stitched by a specialist team before being individually hand-finished and packed for you. It is this attention to detail that ensures a lifetime of use.
Daines & Hathaway has long been recognised for its distinctive hand writing and today it is finding popularity with a new consumer who appreciates the long-lasting quality of classic English design. It is traditional manufacturing for a modern world.
This summer, Daines & Hathaway will launch three new leather bags alongside current range small leather goods worked in a selection of luxe new leathers. To celebrate the brand’s centenary, a limited edition Military Wet Pack will also launch this season. Made using a bespoke buckle designed and handcrafted in the South West of England and an English made wax canvas lining, this piece will embody Daines & Hathaway’s heritage appeal.
Leather is at the heart of Daines & Hathaway and most of the collection is hand crafted using water resistant leather from Pittards. Manufactured on the same site as the products, the brand is able to keep production miles and therefore its carbon footprint, to a minimum. Daines & Hathaway said it is always striving for a no-waste policy when it comes to its leathers which is achieved through a combination of skilled cutting and utilising off cuts wherever possible.
