The global consulting and recruitment agency Denza is considered a powerhouse in the fashion industry. From recruiting qualified candidates to fostering emerging talent and facilitating designer collaborations, Denza’s team of industry specialists works closely with clients and candidates to understand and respond to their unique requirements.

In its consulting capacity, Denza collaborates with fashion businesses to respond to their organisational design, strategic connection, and recruitment needs. The agency can also organise live projects with young talent as well as internship programs and orchestrate high-calibre partnerships. Noteworthy examples of Denza’s previous projects include the significant collaborations between Celia Birtwell x Uniqlo and Aries Arise x Tommy Hilfiger.

Denza was founded in 1985 by Vanessa Denza, acquiring a worldwide reputation throughout the years. Their clients include leading fashion brands such as Dries Van Noten, Calvin Klein, LVMH Group Brands, Prada, Triumph, Margaret Howell, and Toast. Emma Davidson, who took over as the company’s CEO when Vanessa retired in 2014, commented:

“Since 1985, Denza has influenced the worldwide industry by working and collaborating with clients and candidates at all levels and in all fashion fields. Clients have turned to Denza because of its reputation as an industry powerhouse who supports international talent, from up-and-coming to industry leaders.”

Emma carries on Denza’s aim to provide clients with a personalised service aligned with their hiring or business needs. She said:

“The Denza brand is well regarded for its honesty, fashion acumen, effective placements, ability to keep connections and to offer both clients and prospects specialised support.”

Denza’s primary areas of activity are currently:

  • Recruiting and headhunting: covering everything from graduate to senior roles across womenswear and menswear design, through to product development, merchandising and academic lecturing.
  • Designer collaborations: through its network of fashion brands, retailers and designers, Denza can facilitate international collaborations.
  • Juries, lectures, and workshops: Denza works with universities (including the University of Salford, London College of Fashion, and Istituto Marangoni Shanghai), students and graduates to foster new talent.
  • Graduate programmes: the agency has created graduate programs for international companies and universities.

Supporting new talent makes up a crucial part of Denza’s DNA. Emma explained:

“Another facet of Denza’s DNA includes fostering emerging talent as well. Graduate Fashion Week was founded in part by Vanessa Denza which grew to international notoriety. The business continues this support by offering lectures and seminars at colleges to prepare and encourage students to pursue careers in industry. In addition, the entire internship program for PVH companies Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger was reignited.”

Graduate Fashion Week will take place from 12th to 15th June 2023, click here to find out more about the event.
