Setting the Scene for Skills and Training with UKFT Education Partners

25/11/2022

Last Wednesday was held the very first in-person meeting of our Education Partners Network. We were pleased to welcome our members from further education, higher education and private provision at the UKFT headquarters in Bloomsbury, London. Attendees from a wide range of institutions joined us for the day. We would like to give a special thanks to guest speaker James Corbett OBE and to our partners from:

Istituto Marangoni, Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, University of Westminster, Morley College London, University of Huddersfield, Huddersfield Textile Centre of Excellence, Caramel Rock, Key Learning and Training Ltd, De Montfort University, London Fashion and Textile Academy, Winchester School of Art, Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, Nottingham Trent University, the Department for Education and University of East London.

The event was a perfect opportunity to make new connections and set the scene for skills and training in the fashion and textile sector. We covered topics such as the current industry and governmental landscapes, as well as updates around qualifications and training.

Facilitating greater connectivity between education and industry is at the core of UKFT’s Education Partners Membership. This is why our team used this moment to introduce a range of skills and education projects that we could work on with Education Partners.
