On 18th February, UKFT Rise will be joined by UKFT’s Director of International Business, Paul Alger MBE, as we discuss Virtual Tradeshows in the fashion and textile industry, the options out there and how UKFT can support you in applying for these.

Whilst physical tradeshows may be on hold for the time being, virtual tradeshows have swiftly bridged the gap, allowing designers to upload and showcase their product to potential buyers all across the world. In this new norm it’s important to understand what your options are, especially if you had planned to attend physical tradeshows and this is no longer an option. At the same time, there are lots of new virtual events to choose from and not all of them have any real buy-in from buyers!

Paul has been a familiar face at key international trade shows including Pitti Uomo, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo and New York men’s and women’s Fashion Weeks, CPM Moscow, SEHM and many more. He has organised and led trade missions and research trips to Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Saudi Arabia. Paul has helped thousands of businesses start their export journey and has mentored and advised many companies that have gone on to be household names.
