Exporting for Growth scheme for Yorkshire and Humber deadline extended

11/07/2019

The Exporting for Growth project, which helps exporters based in Yorkshire and the Humber, has been extended to cover events/export activity taking place before the end of December 2019., giving fashion and textile brands the opportunity to apply for funding and international trade support.

The scheme is delivered by Enterprise Growth Solutions in conjunction with the Department for International Trade. So far, it has paid out £2.3 million worth of grants and supported over 800 businesses through the project, helping them leap forward in their international trade journey.

Grants of between £1,000 and £2,000 are available on a match-funded basis. Companies will need to work with DIT to complete the paperwork, and will need to demonstrate the benefits of the funding through increased exports and/or increased employment after the event. The funding can be used for internationalising your marketing material, flights and overseas exhibition expenses, consultancy services, website translations and much more.

One key condition is that companies must apply for the funding before committing in any way to the export trip/activity. The funding can be used alongside DIT’s tradeshow access programme (TAP) funding and is also available to companies that have exhausted their TAP allocation – provided other criteria are met. Applicants must be SMEs. The funding is regional and is based on geographical location of your company.

If you have received ‘Exporting for Growth’ funding in the past, then you will unfortunately not be eligible to apply again.
