Keighley College offers a range of fashion and textile training courses including the Fashion and Textiles Level 2 certificate and the Sewing Machinist Operative Apprenticeship Level 2.

Textile Academy – Level 1 Certificate (ABC) Fashion and Textiles

The Level 1 Fashion and Textiles is perfect for students interested in working in the Fashion or Textiles industry.

Working in the Textile Academy, students can gain experience in the Fashion and textiles industry including designing and making clothes, fabric design and how to work with factories.

The course will allow students to gain the skills, knowledge and understanding to start a career in the fashion and textiles industry.

Designed as a progression from the basic introduction to Fashion and Textiles, the course will give you a deeper understanding of the processes involved in designing, making and selling garments with options for introductions to specific areas such as footwear.

Intermediate Sewing Machinist Operative Standard Apprenticeship (Level 2)

The apprentice will gain technical knowledge and experience in a growing industry where good technical skills are vital. The sewing machinists role is fundamental to the production process right across the fashion and textiles industry.

The apprentice will learn vital skills including workstation preparation, stitching operations, machine and workstation maintenance and carrying out instructions. The apprentice will also gain knowledge in the materials used in production, specialist sewing machines used, the production process, quality and quantity requirements, supply chain and customer base and policies and procedures.
