Support available for London Market Tokyo in March

19/12/2018

London Market Tokyo, 17th-20th March 2019

Following a successful October 2018 edition, London Market Tokyo will take place once again in March 2019, organised by and alongside Man/Woman Tokyo and UKFT during Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo in Japan.

London Market Tokyo was established as snapshot of the London fashion scene: a curated showcase of emerging men’s and women’s brands, manufacturers and designers, established labels and new faces.  This year, for the first time, funding is available for companies across the UK.

A curated exhibition for the Japanese market of the best of London’s apparel, footwear, accessory and lifestyle brands the showroom will present an opportunity for buyers to discover new labels, meet designers and develop new business opportunities. UKFT is especially keen to welcome UK manufacturing Factory Brands, in line with the demand in the market.

The event will take place from 17th-20th March, with a retail tour on the 17th, set up on the 18th and the showcase at the Trunk Hotel on 19th-20th.

The showcase will feature 18 brands and companies will be selected. The event is being grant supported by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) through the Department for International Trade (DIT). Grants will be reduced from the total package price (as an offset) rather than being paid after the event. The grant supported package price is expected to come in at less than £2,000 per brand. Companies will also have to pay for travel and accommodation for at least one person (one is usually enough). Importantly, funding will be available to companies who have exhausted their TAP grants.

Interested brands should email paul.alger@ukft.org as a matter of priority. The deadline for applications is immediate and full payment will be required by 4th January.
