On the topic of sustainability, Sarah Bainbridge, Design Director at Marton Mills, explains some of the positive action the company is taking: At Marton Mills we are continually striving to reduce our environmental impact. In the summer of 2018 we had 260 solar panels installed on the roof of our mill (image attached) and we are hoping to double this number in the near future. We are also working towards sending zero waste to landfill: currently all fabric waste is recycled along with all cardboard, plastics, paper, and oil. All our key yarn suppliers are Oeko-Tex accredited and we are ISO9001 certified. Our recent Leathley range is created using British Wool and all our fabrics are also woven and finished in Yorkshire keeping the carbon footprint from transportation to a minimum.”
