A piece dyed range of over 40 classic and fashion colours, and an extended range of 20 tartan checks, are available from stock. A new range of leno fabrics incorporating textured loops, bouclés and slubs, and a brushed lustre wool quality enhance the new collection.

For the AW 23/24 collection, Samuel Tweed can offer fabric with Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS) Certification. Animal welfare is of the highest importance to the production of the firm’s beautiful fabrics and Samuel Tweed is working with the most responsible of suppliers ensuring the appropriate standards are met.

The angora goat, from which mohair fibre originates, has four simple requirements: Water, Air, Sunshine and Vegetation and it is these essentials that gives inspiration for the new AW23/24 collection.

  1. Water: A delicate palette of fluid pastels, greyed off and dusted. Colours: Frost Green, Battleship, Mink, Silver, Verdigris, Marine, Glicine, Ginger, Maize, Caramel, Safari, Natural. Fabrics: Painterly semi plains textures that conjure flowing movement; 3D raised effects for depth and detail, chaotic stripes that waver and disappear below the surface.
  2. Air: Pinks and Reds from the Autumn skies, Blues and Greens bookended with Black and Cloud White for contrasts and highlights. Colours: Flamingo, Miami, Bruised Red, Deep Rose, Crimson, Black, Peacock, Mustard, Lime, Ecru. Fabrics: Mock Tartan checks in unusual colourings, subtle linear detailed weft stripes, soft and blurry, subdued and subtle.
  1. Sunshine: Bright and Happy colours used in appropriately audacious and fearless fashion. Colours: Billiard, Mallard, Lagoon, Mauve, Umber, Nutmeg, Cinnabar, Pumpkin, Ruby. Fabrics: Oversized tartan checks in bold, brazen colourways, block checks and oversized plaids, decorative and diffused coloured gradations. As bright as sunshine itself!
  2. Vegetation: Beyond the sombre and dark exterior there is a complex, exciting and vibrant scene. Reflected in this palette is a subtly revealed refinement and sophistication. Colours: Donkey, Claret, Plum, Aubergine, Dark Navy, Smoke, Forest, Tartan Green, Sparrow. Fabrics: Tone on tone effects, textural surfaces, subtle colour change, strong and structured leno weave effects.

The Collection Summary:

Piece Dyed Plains: showcasing mohair at its beautiful best.

Semi Plain: melange effect on a white base, simple and straightforward, unembellished beauty. Bright flashes of colour on a black ground for the ultimate contrast.

Bold and Brazen stripes: tonal, clashing and not so subtle.

Statement Gradations: Sophisticated colour options showing the off the lustrous fibre.

Tartans, Tartans everywhere: Brightly coloured, oversized, sophisticated reinterpretations, the classics and some lesser-known unearthed gems are represented.

Large Plaids: Giant in scale, and dramatic in colour.

Oversized Blanket checks:  Sophisticated and blurry brushed finishes.

Water, Air, Sunshine, Vegetation: The new collection of luxury mohair fabrics from Samuel Tweed will be on show at Première Vision 5-7 July 2022 at Stand 5N25.
