Ettinger: Leather accessories and bags

Established 1934

ETTINGER

It was 1934 when Gerry Ettinger came to Britain and established G. Ettinger Ltd in London. His first showroom was in Mayfair’s Vigo Street, just off Regent Street, where he displayed and sold a range of leather goods to the leading department stores of the day – Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Asprey.  Thanks to his love of travel, talent for languages and excellent business brain (honed early on at the family’s tailoring company), the company quickly gained a reputation for its beautiful leather gifts and accessories and today is held in high esteem by customers around the world for its extensive range of accessories and bags.

Ettinger is still family-owned and run by Gerry’s elder son Robert, with its head office and showroom now located in Putney, South West London and its factory in Walsall just north west outside Birmingham, the historic centre of British saddle-making and the leather goods industry.

As one of the most respected manufacturers of British luxury leather accessories, the company was granted the Royal Warrant to HRH The Prince of Wales in 1996 for leather goods. This very special honour allows the company to carry the Prince of Wales cipher of three feathers on all its products and with the Royal Warrant helping to establish Ettinger’s reputation as a quality leather accessories brand around the world. Its accessories can be found in leading luxury stores in over thirty countries including Japan, Dubai, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, the USA, Scandinavia and Europe.

Ettinger’s products play on contrasts and a confident use of colour, thereby mixing a reassuring dose of timelessness and fine detailing with a subtle display of character. Combining traditional craftsmanship skills honed over many generations with clever design and cutting-edge technology where required, has ensured Ettinger’s longevity and continuing reputation. The perfect example of this is its iconic Bridle Hide collection of wallets and purses, which is inspired by traditional equestrian leathers, hand-crafted since the 1930s and refined over the years so that it now embodies the perfect example of this English style.

ETTINGER

For the first time in the company’s history, customers can now create and purchase their own unique Ettinger product. ‘Ettinger Bespoke’ allows customers to choose one of eight products and make it truly their own with the choice of leather, colours, stitching and initials. With personalisation becoming ever more popular, Ettinger has also launched an embroidery initialling option on its canvas bags. These two new options join the already hugely popular initialling service and bespoke Ettinger attaché case options.
