Studio Bodhi for British Textile Week

10/09/2020

Studio Bodhi creates trend-driven sustainable textile designs for interior and fashion markets, with a mission is to promote the use of sustainable materials in design, build close relationships with suppliers, and offer a transparent supply chain to their clients.

Studio Bodhi is the creation of Bristol-based designers Tash Moss and Rebecca Smith, who met at the University of Brighton whilst specialising in woven design.

Tash and Rebecca reflect on the impact of Covid-19 and look forward to new projects and collaborations in 2021:

“Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic we have increased our digital services supplying trend insights, design ideas and sustainable initiatives to mills worldwide. As we are unable to attend tradeshows, we have found this to be a successful process in continuing valuable connections with clients.  We are also currently adapting our website to include a freelancers’ page to promote new designers entering the textile industry, and whose work we would usually sell at tradeshows.

Our collection branches in to two different styles: one celebrates a range of sustainable and repurposed materials, focused on global craft and hand-made processes. The other is a luxe evening wear collection with high shine and iridescent fabrics.

As we have not been able to show our collection personally, we have taken advantage of using agents, so our current collection is in Japan right now and we are working on our Spring/Summer 22 collection ready for Premiere Vision Paris in February 2021.

We have some exciting collaborations coming up next year, one with View Textile magazine and another with Brighton University to look out for!”
