The Brits in Paris map is put together by the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) to help buyers and press find British designers across Paris Women’s Fashion Week.

This year over 250 British designers of RTW, accessories, jewellery, eveningwear and footwear are showing at the main international trade shows: Première Classe, Tranoï, WOMAN Paris and Vendôme Luxury.

They are joined by many more showing in other Paris locations or at multi-brand showrooms including The Alphabet, Awaykin, AQ Market, THE BRIDGE CO, D/Ark, Four Marketing, The Jewellery Showroom, LONDONshowROOMS, Polly King, Rainbowwave, Schröroom, Tomorrow Ltd, Touba, Valery Demure and many more. This is the largest group of British designers to show in one city at the same time and makes the UK the third largest national group after France and Italy.

Delada’s AW19 Menswear and Unisex collection “Underground” continues to be inspired by Lada Komarova’s Soviet and Russian upbringing, and draws on the bittersweet memories of living in a glorious and inspiring time with its dark and repressive side. Reflecting on Komarova’s very personal recollection of bygone Soviet society, focusing on positive experiences and the feeling that one was part of something bigger than just oneself.

Alongside reimagined classics, Komarova proposes suits combining and sport and formal wear, knitted asymmetrical jumpers with seams running across diagonally, structural outerwear pieces featuring bonded technical and laminated fabrics. HILARY GRANT is a knitwear studio + design partnership by Hilary Grant + Robert Harvey, founded in 2011.

Based on the remote archipelago of Orkney, HILARY GRANT design knitwear + home accessories, which are sold in department stores and independent design stores in the UK, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and the US.

We work with a family-run knitwear manufacturer in the Scottish Borders to produce all of their collections from Premium Geelong lambswool. The Geelong fibres are grown in a mulesing-free environment before being spun and dyed on the East Coast of Scotland.

Renata Brenha’s AW19 collection (pictured above, photography courtesy of Daniele Fummo) is an exploration of resistance, life and spirituality – a collage of research and personal history. The Brazilian designer based in East London with strong curiosity in cultural anthropology, digs deep into the lived experiences of indigenous people and significant sociocultural movements.

Hong Kong born Ryan LO graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2011. His SS13 collection was showcased as past of Fashion East, where he showed for three consecutive seasons before being awarded the NEWGEN for AW14.

Now an established fixture in the London fashion scene, LO collaborated with established figures within the industry including: Stephen Jones, Sam McKnight and Marian Newman as well as the best creative talents of his generation including stylist Victoria Young and fashion blogger Susie Lau.

Shrimps is a fashion label from the young London-based designer, Hannah Weiland, launched in 2013.

With a background in History of Art and a diploma in Surface Textile Design from the London College of Fashion, Weiland takes her inspiration from the witticisms of modern art and a playful engagement with pattern and texture.

Shrimps grew from faux fur outerwear and brought the material to the luxury sphere, leading the conversation on cruelty free fashion.

A self professed bookworm, Vancouver-born Steven Tai’s unique blend of intellect and irony presents a refreshingly new take on the woman who stands confidently apart from the mainstream. With a BA in Fashion Design from London’s Central Saint Martins, Steven worked at design houses including Viktor & Rolf, Stella McCartney before debuting his own label in 2012. STORY mfg. was born out of a desire for a more authentic, fulfilling and kind approach to fashion — one that doesn’t involve a trade-off between aesthetics and sustainability. We are a husband and wife team and work with a large group of dyers, weavers, embroiderers and tailors in our atelier in the Indian forest.

Our products are designed to benefit the earth, our customers and the people we work with. We believe fashion can be a form of social activism and that STORY mfg. can help promote regenerative agriculture.

Our manifesto has been the cornerstone of our practice, but it’s open to adaptation as more opportunities to create positive interactions arise.

  • Terry de Havilland at Première Classe Tuileries

The Terry de Havilland brand dates back over 50 years and was started by bespoke shoemaker Terry de Havilland in London’s East end. When the editor of Queen magazine, Annie Treherne, featured his iconic 70s block heel shoes in her magazine in the late 60’s they were an instant hit and defined the styles for the next decade. Today Terry de Havilland shoes are worn by some of the worlds most fashionable women including Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Lara Stone and Rita Ora.

Underage is a British contemporary brand established in London 2017. Romantic wild fantasy is the consistent theme for Underage. WEN PAN is a London-based womenswear label launched in 2017. The brand expands the content of ‘Poetic Resistance’ that exists in her vision of Chinese aesthetics. By using raw fluidity and layers of textures, WEN PAN evokes characters in a balance of femininity and roughness. The design journey always starts from traces of common people’s lives, and ends with  deconstructed pieces which bring an image of quietness in chaos.

Everything begins with a story. Ours begins with our family.

We discovered that our grandmother hand wove wicker baskets for a living in China years before moving to England. Inspired by this and the stories she told us gave us the inspiration to create a brand that would echo the story of our past and bring them into the future.

  • Worme at Touba

Worme was founded by sisters Hannah and Melissa Collett who grew up in South West London and spent summers in Cadaqués, Cataluña. The Mediterranean town has a vivid artistic legacy and wild energy, which the sisters drew inspiration from when first experimenting and creating clothes for their holidays there.

Uninspired that the only resort wear available was made from synthetic materials embellished with jewels, tassels and fringes, they designed their own classic pieces that allowed them to transition from day to night, turning to silk every time for its ease and effortless sophistication.

YSI YSU is a London based designer brand specialising in high end womenswear with chic and feminine styles. The meaning of YSI YSU is not only to build up a relationship between ‘I’ and ‘You’- the brand and the customers, but also to discover the possibilities that how customers might be involved in the designs- the functions and the styles.

YSI YSU was established in March, 2018, but our story actually started a long time ago, back to when our designer Yuan Sun was studying MA Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University in 2007. Yuan developed her interest in combining function with construction of the garments at that time. She graduated with Distinction and her collection Rolling was shown and awarded at International Hempel Fashion Award. In the following years of working in UK luxury fashion industry, Yuan gained invaluable experience. Gradually an idea came to her mind that to establish a brand to express her design concept, and it’s for the women who look for creative but wearable products with high quality.
