04/10/2019

UKFT hosted a group of commercial officers from the Department for International Trade in key markets around the world to give them an update on the latest trends and developments in the UK fashion and textile industry, followed by a tour of selected stores in London.

The group took a walking tour to Lamb’s Conduit Street and Coal Drops Yard to see contemporary brands including Blackhorse Lane Atelier, Simon Carter, YMC, Universal Works and Oliver Spencer.

The group included commercial officers based in the US, Canada, China, Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Russia, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

UKFT International Business Director Paul Alger MBE said: “It is a great opportunity to showcase some of the best of British contemporary fashion in its home environment to the DIT commercial officers to give them the knowledge they need to promote our industry overseas. These commercial officers are our link to buyers, press and partners in their respective markets and can help to open up new opportunities for British fashion around the world.”
