WooltexUK introduces worsted spinning capability

12/07/2023

Yorkshire-based WooltexUK has been designing and manufacturing textile fabrics since 1996 and in 2022, the company introduced worsted spinning in a newly-acquired manufacturing plant in Huddersfield.

Located in the heart of Yorkshire’s textile industry, WooltexUK specialises in fabrics used in office seating, public buildings and concert halls, which are exported all around the world.

The new spinning capability allows Wooltex to produce yarns in a range of counts using fibres that are traceable, sustainable, and more environmentally friendly. The plant is state of the art utilising automated processes to complement the firm’s  highly skilled work force.

The company has expanded rapidly since its inception and its range of manufacturing services has increased in line with this growth. For some years now Wooltex has carried out its own Warping, Weaving, Mending and Final Inspection but from 2015/16 a significant investment programme provided a new state of the art Dyeing and Finishing facility. During 2018 Wooltex installed a facility for manufacturing its own yarns using novel and advanced production techniques.

The company prides itself on investing in the latest machine technology aided by a strong technical team. Research and development is a major priority, as well as working with approved local suppliers.

“Our local approach ensures fast, high quality production and minimises costs, as well as reducing the impact of our carbon footprint,” said the company.
