Exploring the role of AI in sustainable fashion

UKFT attended the AI In Fashion conference on 21 February 2024, hosted by Innovate UK, STYLE3D and UKFT member Fashion-Enter, which explored the symbiotic relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and the fashion industry. The event brought together textile and fashion designers, brand owners, retailers and entrepreneurs to discuss how AI can foster a more sustainable and circular fashion ecosystem.

The conference, at Fashion Enter’s factory in North London, featured speakers and thought leaders including Anne Toomey from the Royal College of Art, Kate Goldsworthy from Chelsea Arts, Jenny Holloway of Fashion Enter, Steve Morris from Innovate UK Business Connect and Eric Lui from STYLE3D on topics ranging from AI-driven design to sustainability practices.

Alice Burkitt, strategic projects consultant for UKFT, said: “It was great to see such a large cross section of the industry in attendance and lots of food for thought about the UK industry can incorporate new technology adapt to future trends.”

UKFT is hosting a new three-part webinar series called Disrupting Manufacturing, which is part of our mission to empower a world-leading, future-fit, UK manufacturing sector. Jenny Holloway from Fashion-Enter featured on the first edition on made to order manufacturing.

The next edition will be held in March 2024 on funding for innovation – implementing new technologies.
