UKFT recently held a fashion and textile trade policy roundtable in conjunction with leading civil servants from the Department for Trade (DIT) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The purpose of the roundtable was to present the industry’s views to DIT and BEIS on the development of an independent trade policy for the UK following our exit from the EU. The key areas for discussion were on the future of tariffs, rules of origin, customs and trade facilitation and labelling. There was a very good and very broad representation of the industry present at the meeting.
