Based in the Southwest of England, UKFT member Bristol Dye & Print Studio provides high quality hand screen-printed fabrics for the film and TV industries, and most recently for the fashion and interior sectors. This unique textile studio was originally set up for the needs of production companies looking for costume breakdown services, specifically dyeing, printing and ageing costumes and fabric.

There are no other similar textiles studios in the southwest, that provide screen printing, fabric dying and fabric painting as a complete service.” – Sarah Pasricha, Founder of Bristol Dye & Print Studio

Since launching three years ago, the studio has grown and developed its services, commented Sarah Pasricha, Founder of Bristol Dye & Print Studio. She explained: “The studio has grown and adapted over the last 3 years and now not only providing costume textile services, but we also work with Hopkins, a prestigious fabric company in London, printing all of their fabric.

Sarah used her 15 years of experience within the costume industry to create a unique design experience and bespoke prints for Bristol Dye & Print Studio’s clients. “There are no other similar textiles studios in the southwest, that provide screen printing, fabric dying and fabric painting as a complete service,” said Sarah.

Bristol Dye & Print Studio features a seven-metre print table and several large dye vats, as well as a spray booth and a large breakdown area. Sarah commented: “Our goals for the future are to connect with more independent designers to work collaboratively producing hand crafted printed fabrics. We are also hoping to start providing courses and workshops sharing the knowledge and skills we have acquired and our love of screen-printing.

The studio has worked on many prestigious film, TV and theatre productions, including Masters of the Air, Aquaman, Lord of the Rings, Wednesday and the Handmaids Tale (English National Opera), although it has begun to expand within other sectors. “We wanted to expand our reach into luxury interiors and luxury fashion as I think we could bring something new and interesting to those industries,” said Sarah.
