Consultation: Expanding DBT export support in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

Fashion and textile businesses in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland: do you want one-to-one support to export from the government?

The Department for Business and Trade is seeking views from businesses and stakeholders in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on how increased export support can complement existing services.

The government is proposing to introduce one-to-one support in the form of International Trade Advisors (ITA) that are currently available in the English regions.

In England, regionally-based ITAs provide tailored account management support to SMEs with the greatest export potential. It is worth noting that company turnover above £500k is usually required for access to an ITA, but there can be exceptions e.g. in rural or low exporting areas.
