IMPACT+ Network: Applications to the Impact Innovation Fund now open

Academic, industrial, business, third sector and government organisations can now apply to the Impact Innovation Fund to receive a share of £475,000 to support their innovative research projects up to the value of £100,000 across a duration of 3 to 12 months.

The IMPACT+ Network at Northumbria University is looking to fund short to mid-term cross-disciplinary research projects aiming to address the challenges in measuring environmental impact across the fashion and textile sector (materials, manufacturing, consumer use, end-of-life). The Impact Innovation Fund will award a total of £475,000.

The fund is aimed at four priority areas that reflect current gaps in knowledge, unmet industry needs or inadequate datasets, including:

  • Beyond Lifecycle Analysis (LCA)
  • Transparent Pathways
  • Circular Knowledge Systems
  • Equitable Partnerships

 

Eligibility

To apply to the fund, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a UK-based member of the IMPACT+ Network (Click here to become a member. Joining the IMPACT+ Network is free of charge.)
  • Applicants can be academic, industrial, business, third-sector or government organisations.
  • Non-academic organisations must have an academic partner to apply.

 

Deadline: Thursday 30 May 2024, 4pm.

About the IMPACT+ Network

Led by Northumbria University, the IMPACT+ Network assembles a cross-disciplinary team to improve the collation, analysis and assessment of data to advance the reliability and authenticity of environmental impact measures.

It is being led by Dr Alana James at Northumbria University working with partners including Loughborough University and King’s College London.

The IMPACT+ Network addresses contemporary challenges encountered when measuring the environmental impact of products, processes and behaviours across the fashion and textile value chain.
