Johnstons of Elgin president recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022

Ian Urquhart, president of UKFT member Johnstons of Elgin, was awarded a CBE for his services to the textile and scotch whisky industries and to charity in Moray in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022.

Other notable recipients from the UK fashion and textile industry include designer Stella McCartney, who was awarded a CBE for her services to fashion and sustainability, Joules founder Tom Joule, who was awarded an OBE for services to business, and Stephanie Phair, chair of the British Fashion Council (BFC) and chief customer officer of Farfetch, who was awarded an OBE for services to fashion and to technology.

Designers Craig Green and Grace Wales Bonner were also awarded an MBE each for services to fashion.

Nicholas Coleridge CBE, chairman of the Campaign for Wool and the Victoria and Albert Museum, was awarded a knighthood for his services to museums, to publishing and to the creative industries. He was previously editorial director at Condé Nast and chairman of the BFC.

Caroline Norbury, Chief Executive of Creative UK, has also been awarded an OBE.
