Member Spotlight: Samuel Tweed Fabrics known for its high quality and excellence in design

UKFT member Samuel Tweed Fabrics has been designing and manufacturing luxury mohair fabrics and accessories in Yorkshire for more than 80 years. The brand is synonymous with mohair and is known internationally for its high quality, and excellence in design, working with some of the biggest fashion brands, interior designers and retailers in the world.
Originally part of the Whitley Willows group, the brand was taken over by the company’s creative director, John Harrison, in 2007. John has since designed, created and marketed the products from the beautifully sited studio in the countryside near Huddersfield.
The product offer consists of beautifully coloured fabrics, scarves, stoles and throws in mohair/wool blends.
The fabric range includes a collection of 40 plain colours in classic and fashion shades, available from stock. There is also a stock supported range of 15 classic tartan checks. Bespoke colours and designs can be created to customer requirements. The seasonal fabric collection is traditionally launched at Premiere Vision in Paris and the company is excited to be showing again in July after the two year enforced hiatus. They also exhibit at Munich Fabric Start and the JITAC European Textile Fair, Tokyo. All its main markets are supported by professional local sales representatives.
Samuel Tweed’s mohair accessories are universally popular and they have created an extensive range of scarves, stoles, serapes and throws in a comprehensive range of colours, designs and sizes. Stock is available to support sampling and small quantities can be supplied. Bespoke sizes, designs and colours can be produced for small MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) and a good relationship with some of the biggest names in fashion and retail, in whose ranges their items regularly feature, has been key to their success.
The company is also proud to work very closely with some very prestigious interior designers and its mohair throws regularly feature in their upmarket interior projects. The throws are made to the specific requirements of the client in respect of colour and size.
