UKFT has launched the first edition of the new Sustainability 101 series of publications for UK textile manfuacturers, covering standards and certifications.

It offers a comprehensive guide to standards tailored specifically for the UK manufacturing industry. Our goal is to simplify the certification journey, making it easier for you to navigate the diverse landscape of standards and identify the one most suitable for your business.

The guide covers:

Adam Mansell, CEO of UKFT, said: “Sustainability can mean many different things and we recognise that everyone is on their own sustainable journey. There is no one size fits all approach and what’s right for one business will not be right for another. But with a huge range of competing initiatives, certifications schemes and legislative requirements, it is often a challenge for manufacturing businesses to know what aspect of sustainability to prioritise and which intervention would have the biggest impact both environmentally and economically.

“UKFT’s Sustainability 101 series of publications has been developed to help companies make the right choices by providing unbiased, industry-specific guidance on a range of topics,” he added.

This first edition was launched by UKFT’s President HRH The Princess Royal during the second Sustainability in UK Textiles Conference on 28 September 2023 at Drapers Hall in London.

Further editions will follow providing industry insight into green claims, new legislation, dealing with audits and energy efficiency, as well as an updated guide to textile chemicals covered by UK/EU REACH.
