TikTok x UKFT Partnership

09/02/2023

The UK Fashion and Textile Association is delighted to announce its upcoming partnership with social media platform TikTok. This exciting collaboration will take the shape of a programme to support and nurture the UKFT Rise community – our network of up and coming UK fashion and textile start-ups.

The support, which will be provided exclusively to selected UKFT Rise subscribers, aligns with TikTok’s feature: TikTok Shop. Launched in 2021, this space allows brands and individuals to sell and promote their products. The UKFT Rise community will receive access to an in-house TikTok seminar programme to grow TikTok Shop sales, as well as TikTok’s Farringdon office.

TikTok will unlock a prize for winning UKFT Rise businesses to be put in contact with an account manager and will receive £400 to create ads, collaborate with an affiliated content creator with subsidised rates, use studios and more. A seminar will be organised both online and at TikTok’s office in March 2023, for UKFT Rise subscribers, to officially launch the partnership and unveil further details.

UKFT CEO, Adam Mansell said:

“This partnership is a great opportunity to help support emerging businesses. We are looking forward to collaborating with TikTok to nurture the success of talented individuals within the UKFT Rise community.”

UKFT Rise subscriber Daines Atelier, a slow fashion brand upcycling vintage textiles into clothing, explained:

“Joining the UKFT Rise community has helped me to build confidence and thrive in my business. Being surrounded by motivating and like-minded individuals has really helped me to stay on track and improve as an individual and business. The group offers support whether it be having a blue Monday, needing some advice on a topic or beginning collaborations. The small sustainable business community is so nourishing and there’s no competition, just support.”

UKFT Subscriber Cesca Dvorak, a brand of printed and hand painted textiles, agreed:

“I recently became a subscriber of UKFT Rise and in the space of a couple of months have found some very helpful resources through the organisation. It can be very difficult starting out as a new business, and I’m so happy to know their support and community are here.”

Supporting early-stage fashion and textile companies has always been UKFT Rise’s top priority. The network offers them a space to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and to gain valuable business tips.
