UK Government consultation seeks views on trade mark and design services

24/08/2023

A new UK Government consultation seeks views on ways the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) could offer improved digital services, specifically around trade mark and design issues.

This new consultation led by the UK Government investigates ways the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) could offer improved digital services. Focused on trade mark and design issues, this consultation represents the next phase of the UK Government’s work on developing new digital trade mark, design and tribunal services. This follows a first consultation that ran between 3 November 2022 and 6 January 2023, as part of the IPO Transformation Programme.

Alan Williams, IPO CEO, said:

“The One IPO Transformation Programme is not just about better digital services, but also updating the legislation, policy and practice that underpins the IP system. This consultation is the next important step on that journey.”
