French Triman Labelling Update 2023

07/02/2023

Are you selling fashion or textiles goods that are produced in France?

Triman marking of consumer goods such as clothing, textiles, footwear, home textiles, soft furnishings, toys, and packaging is mandatory for goods being placed on the French market.

There has been a recent revision to the nomenclature for clothing, textiles, footwear, and home textiles which comes under the responsibility of the eco-organization, Re_Fashion. New categories and products have been added such as aprons under ‘Light Work Gear’. Other products listings have been extended to include more categories such as ‘Hats and other headgear’. The revised nomenclature is available as a download here.

In addition, some product categories have been re-allocated from Re_Fashion to the eco organization, Ecomaison, (previously known as Ecomobilier). This includes the following household textiles and childrenswear:

  • Curtains
  • Net curtains
  • Blinds
  • Fancy-dress items for children < 14 years

The Ecomaison website does not currently reflect the changes nor any new additions to their product ranges such as rugs and cushion covers.

If you are selling goods to France within the product categories above, please check the revised Re_Fashion nomenclature as you may now have to register with and pay fees to Ecomaison in addition to Re_Fashion.

The Triman nomenclature will continue to change over time so please expect changes and updates as we continue to work with this French legislation.
