Discover the Clevercare.info revamped website and new features

03/10/2023

Clevercare.info recently launched a brand-new website, offering consumers an enhanced digital experience to learn about textile eco-care. Scroll down for more information.

Created in 2014 by GINETEX, the International Association for Textile Care Labelling, the Clevercare.info website helps consumers get a better understanding of textile care, while promoting recycling and giving garments a second life. Bringing awareness to textile care best-practices is essential – how we care for our garments represents 40% of their environmental impact.

GINETEX was founded in 1963 in Paris, with the aim of offering a textile care labelling system based on symbols that could be used internationally. These pictograms are now a familiar sight in many countries across the world, providing consumers with the succinct information they need to take proper care of their garments. They are registered trademarks in over 80 countries, including the UK and all major European markets, equally owned by GINETEX and COFREET.

UK companies must have a licence to use the care and Clevercare symbols, which they can acquire through UKFT – the UK organisation responsible for the use of the GINETEX symbols. Click on the link below to find out more:

Revamped website and new features

The new Clevercare.info website launched on 19 September 2023. It offers an improved digital experience to users and includes new features to help consumers further their knowledge of textile eco-care and laundry best-practices. The new features include:

  • The ‘Remove a stain’ feature, to help consumers find out how to remove specific stains from different textile types.
  • The care symbol index, that explains the meaning of each care symbol.
  • The ‘Special fabrics’ feature, that offers advice on how to look after different types of clothing.

Thomas Lange, President of GINETEX, commented:

“We created Clevercare.info to raise consumer awareness of the benefits of textile care. And this goes far beyond perfectly clean laundry! When consumers take care of their textiles, they act on their garments’ lifecycles – promoting circular economy – and commit to an eco-responsible approach.”
